You can, at any time, ask a moderator for a feedback to your level you’re currently building. It is your responsibility to publish the final, finished level - meaning: try to avoid posting WIP (Work In Progress) levels to the server.
📏 Scale reference
This is used for a bit of terminology used by level moderators on the server.
- Reasonable: A player can recognize that the creator didn’t just wing in something for the sake of a rate.
- Acceptable: The creator has given apparent effort.
- Good: The level has balanced gameplay and decoration.
- Great: The creator exceeds standard expectations.
Upon a level mod playing your level, they may give you a rating ranging from 0 to 15 regarding the quality of your level. Optionally, they can choose to tell you where to improve in your next level.
- 0-3 → No rate
- 4-6 → Rate
- 7-9 → Feature
- 10-12 → Epic
- 13-14 → Legendary
- 15 → Mythic
All ratings will reward 1 creator point per scale, from 1 Creator Point (Rate) to 5 Creator Points (Mythic)
Minimum rating criteria
- The level must have a minimum length of 30 seconds.
- The level must be reasonably decorated or properly themed. For example, if you’re going for a 1.8-styled level, don’t use 2.0 features.
- The level must have great decoration for 1.0-1.3 themed levels.
- The level must have great decoration for 1.4-1.9 themed levels.
- Insane or Extreme Demons must have proof of verification.
The level will receive no rating, if…
- It is reuploaded from vanilla GD, or if the intention of the level is creator point farming. → Reuploads are less likely to get rated!
- It is not verified or has a secret way in it.
- It is not made for a rate. This includes layouts, WIPs, or if the creator wishes their level to not be rated.
- The level is not auto, but has more than 15 seconds of an automatic section, e.g. no inputs are required.
- The requested difficulty is a troll. For example, requesting 10 stars for an easy 2 star level.
Each level may receive for the outlined criteria’s the following rating:
⭐ Rate
- It has reasonable gameplay.
- It has acceptable decoration.
✨ Feature
- Must at least have acceptable gameplay and good decoration, or vice-versa.
- Automatic sections don’t exceed 10 seconds.
- The colors used fit well with each other.
- The theme is appropriate (acceptable).
🌟 Epic
- It has good/great decoration and gameplay.
- It doesn’t abuse any game bugs.
- It isn’t limited to a certain refresh rate, such as being impossible on certain FPS/HZ values.
- The theme should be good.
🌠 Legendary
- It has great decoration and gameplay.
- Same criteria as epic rating applies: No game bug exploitation, no refresh rate limitations.
- It is at least 60 seconds long.
- No more than 10 % of the level length is automatic.
🎆 Mythic
- A combination of great gameplay, decoration and theme.
- Mythic-rated levels get voted over a time period of 3 months as the best levels uploaded in that time, exceeding every other level in quality and gameplay.
- There are only up to 5 levels per the time period that can get the Mythic rating.
- The level - a candidate for the mythic rating - had at least an Epic rating beforehand.
While Mythic-rated levels are the best of the best and are decided upon community voting over a stated time period, very rarely can a level be rated Mythic right away, but it can happen. In order for this to happen, the level must be revolutionary in some way or another, and a minimum of 2 level mods must agree to the Mythic rating.
